We've all seen these, right? If you're a Pinterest user, I know you must have seen the bazillion different spin-offs of the Ryan Gosling Hey Girl memes. Some lovely ladies (Ashley @ Domestic Imperfection,
Bliss @ Bliss Ranch, Chelsea @ Two Twenty One, Kelly @ The View Along The Way, & Michelle @ Decor and the Dog) ever-so-brilliantly decided to host a Valentine's Day Hey Girl link party - except using your own guy as the subject - and I've decided to join in on the fun.
I probably made these a little sappier than intended since I based them off of some things I love about him (but hey, these are for V-day after all!). Although I admit the text is slightly exaggerated from something he'd actually say...

Surprise snacks always make me happy. Bryan sometimes brings surprise treats home for me, which is awesome. Even more awesome is that he knows how I operate - I don't want a half gallon of ice cream in the freezer because I'll eat it all in a couple of days and be mad at myself. Instead, he brings single serving, low guilt bites of deliciousness.
I'm convinced we have the ideal travel relationship. I love researching trips and planning out all the details. Bryan has no interest in the planning but loves to travel and is up for anything I suggest. It works out perfectly. Like when I suggested a completely out-of-the-blue trip to Colombia - of course he was in. Or when I planned our Australia/New Zealand trip and asked his opinion - he responded, Whatever you want. You plan the best trips. More recently, I had been discussing a potential trip to London with friends. I was reluctant to bring it up to Bryan since we're trying not to spend extra money and weren't planning on travelling at all in the near future. His response? Cool, that sounds like fun!
I've always been a huge animal lover, and so is the hubs. We're even total softies for not so lovable animals. To share a recent story... I tried to shoo a stinkbug away from me and knocked him on the ground. He landed on his back and was barely moving. I was horrified that I thought I seriously injured this stinkbug. I just sat there, staring and worrying, and hoping for him to get up. He finally did, but I was thinking to myself - how many people would be this worried that they may have injured a stinkbug? I'm such a weirdo. Later that day, Bryan and I were at the gym. I saw him crouching on the floor and poking something with a piece of paper. I asked him what he was doing - turns out he was trying to help a bug get up. Yep, I think we were made for each other.
I had to make one for the other guy in my life too - Smokey. This guy's an excellent snuggler. Makes it very difficult to get out of bed and go to work in the mornings (I mean, seriously, could you resist those puppy dog eyes begging you for more snuggles??).
There's still plenty of time to link up to the party if you want to make your own version!

i love them - so cute!! really enjoy the doggie "Smokey" shot. awww, super fun! ( :

ReplyDeleteThanks, Gabbi!
DeleteI loved this post so much! Something about meme-ing my husband made me appreciate him so much, because the meme-y things are only SLIGHTLY exaggerated versions of something he would say, just like yours were. Your man sounds like a great catch! PS: please plan my vacations? Or just take me on yours? :)

Thanks, Kelly! Agreed, it was a nice way to think about how I appreciate him. Of course, I could have also went with things he would never say (hey girl, I love the way the aroma of the brussels sprouts you cook fills our house. haha), but the slightly exaggerated versions just seemed more fun. And yes, I'd happily plan your trips or bring you along! :)
DeleteAwww on both of you saving bugs!
ReplyDeletehaha, thanks Maureen!
DeleteIt's been fun getting to know all you youngsters!
ReplyDeletehaha, thanks Kirby! We're turning 30 this year and feeling old, so I'm glad to know we can still qualify as youngsters :)
