DietBet. Have you heard of it? I hadn't until earlier this week when I got an email from FitFluential explaining that they had a new DietBet game starting soon. I was intrigued.
The basic premise is that you have 4 weeks to lose 4% of your starting weight. You put your money in the pot up front (the amount differs depending on which game you join - looks like most of them range from $10-$50 bets, but they can go up to $500), then everyone who meets their 4% goal gets to split the pot at the end. Other than the obvious financial motivation, there's also the social support aspect since each game is a group event. For the official weigh-ins at the start and end of the bet, you just need to submit two photos of yourself - a full body shot on the scale and a close up of the scale showing your weight.
FitFluential game, but it doesn't start until March 11 - and I've got such great momentum going that I really want to start now.
So guess what? I am starting now...well, technically tomorrow, but close enough. I decided to join the RCFFL game. I was excited to find that in addition to joining games you've been invited to or starting your own, you can also just join up with many of the other existing games out there.
