UK 2013, Part 4: Northumberland, York & London

After Edinburgh, we headed back to England for the final portion of the trip - this time traveling down the eastern portion of the country and stopping in Northumberland and York before returning to London for our last couple of nights.

Northumberland, York & London

Our visit to Northumberland began with a trip to Dunstanburgh Castle. We spent some time wandering the grounds before grabbing some drinks in town, checking into our hotel, and having dinner at the Jolly Fisherman.

The next day, we made the trip to York. After checking into the hotel, we went out to explore the city. We went to the York Castle Museum, saw Clifford's Tower and York Minster, and took a stroll along the city walls. In the evening, we had a low-key, spice-filled dinner at Nando's and stopped in several pubs around the city.

The next morning, we got back on the road to travel back down to London. Along the way, we stopped at the Bicester Village designer outlets (Jimmy Choo, YSL, Dior, D&G - I never knew outlets existed for these types of brands!). Once we got back to London, we got dressed up and ready for a night out. We had an Indian tapas-style meal at Imli Street, then went out to a couple of fun bars in Soho. The next morning, we took another little roadtrip and drove out to Stonehenge. Once we got back to London, we loaded up at the grocery store and then had a big cookout at our friends' flat.

On our final full day, we did some more touring around London. We went to the Tate Modern, saw Big Ben & Parliament and Westminster Abbey, and went to the Clink Prison Museum. Our last evening was spent at Gordon's Wine Bar.

On Tuesday, the girls had breakfast together, then we parted ways and headed to the airport. It was such a fun trip - lots of beautiful, historic, and interesting things to see and do, and made even better spending it with great friends!
