As you've probably discovered by now, my husband and I are building a home in Northern Virginia. We're incredibly excited (and nervous and impatient and a whole mix of feelings - but most of all excited), and I wanted to document this new, big step in our lives - including building the house as well as turning it into our home. I wanted the blog title to reflect this progression and decided on homevolution, with the tagline From land to house to home: Adventures in building our bungalow (our house isn't actually a bungalow, but I liked the alliteration and it's such a fun word).
We currently live in a small condo - with one bedroom, one bathroom, a teeny kitchen, and a living room. In the new house, we'll have a living room, dining room, family room, study, kitchen, 3.5 baths, 4 bedrooms, an actual yard... basically, a whole lot more space! We'll need to put a lot of effort (and hopefully, not a lot of money) into making it feel like home, and I already have a long list of projects in mind to keep us busy.
Bryan and I met at the University of Maryland (Go Terps!), have been dating since the end of our freshman year in 2002, and got married on August 8, 2009. We live with our fluffball kitty, Aria, and silly pup, Smokey - I think they'll be very happy to have a new, spacious house too!
Thanks for stopping by!
